When will I receive my refund?
How long Apple and Google Play take to decide on a refund and return the money, how to check the status, and what our policy says for web purchases.
Updated · iOS, Android and Web
A refund takes two steps: first the request is approved, then the money travels back to your payment method. How long each step takes depends on where you paid and how.
iOS
Apple gives an update on a refund request within 24 to 48 hours. Contacting Apple by phone or chat does not speed it up.
Check the status
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in to your Apple Account.
- Choose Check Status of Claims. If you don't see it, you have no pending refund requests.
- To see the status, tap or click Pending.
When the money arrives
If your refund is approved, the money goes back to the payment method you used to buy the item:
- Apple Account balance (store credit): up to 48 hours.
- Mobile phone billing: 30 to 60 days for the statement to show the refund. Your carrier can give you an update.
- Credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Apple Cash and other payment methods: up to 30 days for the statement to show the refund. If you don't see it after 30 days, contact your bank or card issuer.
You may lose access to refunded items.
