Why does my subscription renew automatically?

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them.
Apple charges you no more than 24 hours before the start of the new subscription period.
If you start a free trial and don't want to be charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Apple notifies you if the price of a subscription increases and, where required, asks for your consent before it renews at the new price.
To get a receipt each time a subscription renews, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, then turn on Renewal Receipt Emails.

A Google Play subscription has no end date: you are charged at the start of each billing period, for example weekly or yearly, until you cancel.
Google may place an authorization hold on your payment method up to 48 hours before the next renewal period (up to 5 days in India and Brazil). Canceling before the next billing cycle begins removes the hold.
With a free trial, Google sends you an email when the trial is about to end. When it ends, the first billing period begins and you are charged automatically. To avoid the charge, cancel before the trial expires.
If a renewal payment fails, you may get a grace period to update your payment method. After that your subscription may be put on hold for up to 60 days while Google retries the payment, and it is canceled if the payment issue isn't fixed.
