How do I turn study reminders and notifications on or off?
Turn on study reminders with Remind Me during setup or Allow Reminders in the app's Settings, and allow or block notifications in your phone's settings.
Updated · iOS and Android
The app can send you study reminders. You turn them on in two places in the app, and your phone's own settings decide whether the app may send notifications at all.
Study reminders in the app
- During the first-launch setup, the Stay on track screen asks about study reminders. Tap Remind Me to turn them on, or Maybe Later to skip (on Android, Remind me and Maybe later).
- Later, on the Study tab, tap the gear icon at the top right to open Settings. Under App Preferences, use the Allow Reminders switch.
Settings has only the Allow Reminders switch for reminders: there's no setting for the reminder time.
Android
When you tap Remind me or turn on Allow Reminders, Android asks "Allow NCLEX to send you notifications?". Tap Allow.
If you tap Don't allow after turning on Allow Reminders, the app shows Notifications disabled: "Enable notifications in system settings to receive reminders." The switch stays off. Turn notifications on for the app in your phone's settings (below), then try again.
Notifications in your phone's settings
You choose which apps can send you notifications in your phone's Settings app, so that's where you turn notifications from your exam app on or off.
iOS
Turn notifications on or off
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Notifications, then tap your exam app below Notification Style.
- Turn Allow Notifications on or off.
On the same screen you can also choose where notifications appear (on the Lock Screen, in Notification Center or as banners), choose a notification sound (if the app supports it), turn badges on or off, and set how previews look on the Lock Screen. If the app supports it, a link at the bottom of the screen opens the app's own notification settings.
Notifications on but not arriving?
- Focus: when a Focus (for example, Do Not Disturb or Sleep) is on, iPhone delays the delivery of notifications. To turn it off, open Control Center, tap Focus, then tap the Focus that's on. To let your exam app through during a Focus, go to Settings › Focus, choose the Focus, tap Apps (or Choose Apps), then add the app under Allow Notifications From.
- Scheduled Summary: if your exam app is included in a scheduled summary, its notifications arrive together at the times you set. In Settings › Notifications › your exam app, choose Immediate Delivery under Notification Delivery.
If notifications still don't behave as expected, email ExamReady support at support@examready.pro and tell us your device and system version (how to find it).
