Quizzes & Study Modes

Why are there no questions in Missed or Mastered mode?

The Missed and Mastered quizzes are built from your own answers. If you have no questions with that status yet, the mode is empty.

Updated · iOS and Android

The Missed Questions Quiz and the Mastered Questions Quiz depend on your answer history:

  • Missed Questions Quiz ("Master your mistakes") asks the quiz questions you answered wrong.
  • Mastered Questions Quiz ("Reinforce your strengths") asks the quiz questions you answered correctly.

A mode that has questions opens straight to its first question, with no start screen. The header shows how many questions it has, for example Missed Questions 1/3 or Mastered Questions 1/8.

If you have no questions with that status, the mode is empty. For example, the Missed Questions Quiz has nothing to ask before you have answered any quiz question wrong.

Android

In the Android app, an empty mode shows a message instead of a quiz:

QuizWhat the app shows
Missed Questions QuizNo Missed Questions: "Great job! You've answered all questions correctly so far." Tap Got It to close it.
Saved Questions QuizSave Questions to Unlock This Mode: "This mode uses questions you've saved during your quizzes. Take a quick quiz to save questions and unlock it."
Mastered Questions QuizTake a Quiz to Unlock This Mode: "This mode uses questions from your quiz activity. Take a quick quiz to unlock it."

The Saved and Mastered messages have a Take a Quick 10 Quiz button and an × that closes them. The Missed Questions Quiz of a topic under Quiz Modes by Topic shows the same No Missed Questions message.

A question's status can change

A question's status can change when you answer it again: a question you missed can move to Mastered once you answer it correctly. So a mode that had questions can become empty after you practice them.

What these modes don't include

The Missed Questions Quiz is built from your quiz answers. Wrong answers in case studies and in Game Mode are not in it. Case study results are kept separately, under Case Studies on the Study tab.

To fill the mode

Answer more questions, for example in a Random Mix Quiz or a Quick 10: see how to take a practice quiz. Questions you get wrong become available in the Missed Questions Quiz, and questions you get right in the Mastered Questions Quiz.

The Saved Questions Quiz works the same way with the questions you save: see how to save questions and practice them later.
